At the bauma 2010 trade fair, MAHLE Industriefiltration presents the new Pi 550 suction-return-line filter series for use in mobile hydraulic systems.
The Pi 550 series offers a wide range of potential applications in mobile filtration, particularly in hydrostatic drives.
One of the development goals was a suction-return-line filter with a compact form factor. The horizontal orientation of the connec-tions, in particular, allowed the filter head to have a very flat profile. Especially in mobile hydraulic applications, this property is very valuable due to extremely tight installation spaces. The use of a plastic housing also allowed a lower cost version to be implemented for the smaller nominal sizes. This provides a significant cost advantage, particularly for large quantities.
The broad spectrum of applications for this new series is made possible thanks to the large bandwidth of filter elements offered. The scope of available inserts ranges from high-efficiency MAHLE Premium Select elements, rated at 3 µm-25 µm, to paper elements at 10 µm-25 µm.
Large, optimized filter surfaces ensure extremely high dirt-holding capacity, low flow resistance, and exceptional results in filter performance tests.
The variety of available accessories—from a large number of different connection types to variable selection of maintenance indicators—help to meet extensive customer requirements.
